Oreo cookie, cookie pops! 5/14

My friend Jessica Wheelie, had a craving for oreo cookie, cookie/cake pops.... so we reaserched a bit, bought our ingredients and went to work! :) They weren't as hard as I thought they would be, and they actually turned out to be pretty tasty!!  ;)  I had some leftover peppermint candy melts from Christmas, so we mixed that with some red ones and came up with delicious peppermint oreo cookie pops....  YUMMM!!! 

what "they" said you'll need.....

1 box of oreo cookies

1 package of cream cheese, room temp

sticks

candy melts

What WE used...

26 oz. of oreo cookies

1 package of cream cheese, room temp

sticks

candy melts, 1.5 bags

in a food processor crush the oreo cookies, a little at a time,

in a large bowl mix the cookies and the cream cheese together

then start making/shapping the mixture into balls,

we then melted a little of the chocolate and dipped the sticks into it, then we placed the sticks into the balls, after all the balls are "stuck" we put them in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes...  then we were ready to dip!  ;)

Starbucks lemon loaf

I'm am absolutely in LOVE and most definitely ADDICTED to the lemon loaf from Starbucks...  I eat it at least twice a week!!  haha!! 

It's that AMAZING!  :)

The other day picky-palate, one of my absolutely most favorite food bloggers posted a "copycat' recipe for the lemon loaf.. and what do you know I HAD ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS IN THE PANTRY, and a lemon tree in the backyard that needed tending to!!  So I went ahead and made it, and let me tell you, it was DELIGHTFUL!! and oh so pretty... 

Look at this oh so beautiful lemon tree....

the lemons are so big and pretty, and so ready to become something delicious like my mom's homemade lemonade, which we've been having A LOT lately...  ;)  or lemon rolls....  this here lemon was destined to become part of my homade lemon loaf!!  ;)

This recipe was SUPER easy, and like I said before, I had all of the ingredients in my pantry..  so you may too!! 

what you'll need is

1 box of yellow cake

1 big box of instant lemon pudding, I only had a small box, but it still worked!  ;)

1/2 cup of vegetable oil,

4 eggs

1/2 cup of milk

1 cup of sour cream

the juice of one big lemon,

for the icing you'll need

2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

and the 3 to 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, I also added about 1 tablespoon of water, and lemon zest

.....and all done, and ready to be eaten!!  YUMMMM.... 

I couldn't wait so I actually frosted it, and cut it while it was still warm, so the icing and cake melted all over the place...  BUT it was that much better!!!  YUMMM!!!  :)

...I was so excited for the final result that I felt the need to share it with my Instagram friends!!  ;)

....after enjoying 2 pieces of this sinful goodness....  I went to bed, the next morning I packed some up for some of my favorite taste testers, and let me tell you they weren't dissapointed!!  :)

I will definitely be making this again...  and soon!!  Did I mention that the lemon tree is out of control and FULL of lemons??

One of my favorite author's of all time, It is thanks to him that I learned to read, I always thought he was a great author for kids...  easy peasy reading and fun too!  Some of my favorite quotes are from him...  I'm not nearly as GREAT as a fan as my little sister...  BUT I do appreciate his work and everything that comes with it...  ;)  She's all about celebrating his b-day, it's kind of a big deal in our house!!  ;)

Dr. Seuss' Birthday is today, Gaby thought it would be fun to "celebrate,"  soooo we made treats, took pictures and left everything ready for our seuss-elation tomorrow after work!  ;)  

Here is our adventure in pictures!  ;)  looks like Dr. Seuss was coming alive in the kitchen!  ;) Cat in the hat cupcakes, and truffula trees in the making, along with Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes! :)

...and our final product!  They were sooooo cute!  keep reading 'till the end...  I'll give you a suggestion for these little guys!  ;)

Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes...  turned out sooooo cute!!  again keep reading to the end...  there's a lesson to be learned from these!  ;)

...and we also made Cat in the Hat cupcakes... I LOVED the way these turned out, and they were super easy to make... which made these THAT much better! ;)

....and we decided to have a final photoshoot, that is the main reason we did all of this!!  haha!!  that and the fact that all of these treats looked super cute for our celebration!  ;)

These were super fun to make...  My sister and I had a really fun time making all of these...  I would definitely do them again, with a few minor changes...  ;)

I NEVER read the comments from others, when I find something I like I must make it...  and I usually do, which is what happened to these guys... My sister on the other hand ALWAYS does!!  haha! HAD I READ THE COMMENTARY that was available online I would of noticed that the cotton candy was probably NOT the best idea for out treats!  It melts in about 4 hours..  so as I'm writing this, the thing 1 thing 2 cupcakes have become a melted mess of cotton candy sugar on top of the frosting....  :(  ahhhhh...  and the truffula trees have withered down to small balls on top of sticks!!  haha!!  thankfully we made these for fun, and my little people friends will love them anyway!!  ;) 

NEXT time I would still use the cotton candy on the thing 1 thing 2 cupcakes WITHOUT the frosting...  I would just set the cotton candy on top, and go with it!  as for the truffula trees...  they still look cute...  I just wouldn't make them the night before...  ANYTHING that contains cotton candy must wait until the day of the party!  LESSON LEARNED!!!  ;)

*At least everything lasted long enough for me to get pictures, BECAUSE we all know that's really all I was concerned with!*  ;D

Oh and the cotton candy that was touching the frosting had a "life-span" of about 3-4 hrs....

A fun baby shower for miss Khloe!

I have LOTS AND LOTS of friends that are pregnant...  This means, LOTS AND LOTS of baby showers...  Today was Julie and Khloe's turn!  Jessica and Kati did an awesome job with the shower...  and I was lucky to get to help out with the treats!!  You can read all about the decor/party on Jessica's party blog!

My little sister turned 30 today!!  YIKES!  typing that just confirmed the fact that I am old!  ;)

She requested birthday cupcakes for her celebration, so I went ahead and baked her up some!!  ;)  My mom helped me make the toppers...  cute huh??  I LOVED the way they turned out!  :)
